About The Position

This role involves interpreting demand signals such as MRP, Requisitions, and Kanban cards to make financially sound purchasing decisions. The Buyer will understand inventory control principles and processes and their impact on the business's financial health. They will coordinate with various functions including Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ensure timely fulfillment of material and service requirements. A key aspect of the role is actively identifying, engaging, and managing supplier relationships to meet business requirements related to cost, delivery, service, and quality. The position also requires maintaining accurate records and systems consistent with professional purchasing practices.

Requirements

• Minimal knowledge of commonly used purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
• Minimal knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
• Minimal knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures.
• Minimal knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.

• Bachelor degree a Plus
• MRP/ERP experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with other functions (including Quality, Engineering, Finance, Operations etc.) to ensure timely fulfillment of material and service requirements in support of the business.
• Works actively to identify, engage, and manage relationships with suppliers capable of meeting the business requirements relative to Cost, Delivery, Service, and Quality.
• Maintains records and systems consistent with professional approach to purchasing activities.
