About The Position

At JC Davis Ventures, LLC dba JC Davis Power, we keep work moving with smart, reliable solutions that allow our people and our partners to stay safe, focused, and ahead. Powering a jobsite shouldn't be a hassle. But too often, crews are left waiting, equipment breaks down, vendors go dark, and deadlines slip. We started JC Davis Power to fix all of that. We're a full-service jobsite operations partner, delivering and maintaining temporary power, climate control, and tower lighting. All with one reliable crew. No handoffs. No confusion. We show up, solve problems, and do the work the right way. Whether you're supporting customers in the field, building systems behind the scenes, or helping drive the business forward, you'll be part of a team that values reliability, accountability, and getting the job done. Simple - Reliable - Done Right! The Buyer/Expeditor is responsible for placing and expediting parts orders in support of JC Davis Power's maintenance and refurbishment operations. This role carries a defined share of the parts ordering volume and retains ownership of each order from placement through complete receipt. This is an execution and follow-through role rather than a sourcing role. Purchasing runs through established vendors and existing processes, primarily in Limble. The Buyer/Expeditor monitors open purchase orders for partial shipments, short quantities, and outstanding items, follows up directly with vendors, and escalates repeated or extended backorders to the Senior Buyer/Expeditor for a sourcing decision. This role also builds visibility into vendor lead times to move purchasing from reactive rush orders toward proactive planning. This is a full-time hybrid position (4 days in office) based in Elgin, Texas, reporting to the Senior Buyer/Expeditor.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of purchasing, buying, or expediting experience
  • Experience owning purchase orders and following them through to receipt
  • Working understanding of the three way match, meaning purchase order, item receipt, and bill
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with quantities, partial deliveries, open purchase orders, and backorders
  • Adept at managing a high volume of requests and open orders
  • Willingness to pause and ask questions when information is incomplete, with the judgment to know whether a question belongs with the Senior Buyer/Expeditor or with the original requester
  • Self-starter who can read the urgency of a request and complete work without leaving loose ends
  • Collaborative, with the ability to maintain productive vendor relationships
  • Available for an 8:00 AM start, four days per week in the Elgin office with one flexible work from home day. Requests are often waiting at 8:00, and hours shift as demand dictates.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with generator, engine, electrical, or heavy equipment parts
  • Experience in equipment rental, fleet, industrial, or construction environments
  • Experience with Limble or another maintenance, inventory, or ERP system, though not required

  • Identify repeated or extended backorders and escalate them to the Senior Buyer/Expeditor with enough history to support a sourcing decision
  • Clarify incomplete or unclear requests before ordering, working with the original requestor or Senior Buyer/Expeditor as appropriate
  • Track vendor and item lead times, surface recurring delays, and support earlier ordering to reduce rush orders and stockouts
  • Handle purchases that fall outside Limble, including Uline, Amazon, and occasional credit card purchases for specialty tools and refurbishment parts, and work with the Senior Buyer/Expeditor to determine when repeat demand warrants formal vendor setup
