About The Position

Meriton is seeking a Business Unit (BU) Controller for one of its newest portfolio companies. This individual will be a key member of the Accounting and local Leadership team, responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to BU and Meriton leadership. This is a hands-on role requiring a balance between coaching, delegating, and individual contribution. The BU Controller will serve as the finance business partner to the BU Leadership Team, with responsibility for delivering financial results for the BU, including certain portions of the month-end close and delivery. The role involves reviewing and overseeing BU Accounting Operations related to AR Collections and the weekly payables run, overseeing revenue and related job accounting entries, and working closely with the Meriton Corporate Controller to follow Meriton accounting policies and maintain a strong control environment. The position will also support the overall Meriton external audit when needed, partner with BU leadership on budgets and forecasts, support BU financial goals, assist sales with project and customer matters, and handle ad hoc requests as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 10 years plus experience
  • Industry experience as a leader in a controller organization
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Operations and commercial literacy
  • Ability to deliver accurate and detailed reports in a timely manner

Responsibilities
