About The Position

The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking a Business Systems Support Supervisor to lead and support complex departmental infrastructure, network, systems, data center, and cloud environments. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient technology operations, facilitates departmental access and usage while maintaining security protocols, and provides operational and technical support for enterprise platforms and services. This is a regular full-time, exempt position with benefits, anticipated to be Monday-Friday, on-site, with on-call and weekend support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or in a related field of study
  • At least 5-years of progressive experience in business analysis, function design, project management or directly related experience
  • Including at least 2-years supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

  • Proven experience leading and supervising technical teams in a complex enterprise IT environment
  • Strong background in infrastructure, networking, systems administration, data center operations, and cloud technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects, operational priorities, and vendor relationships effectively
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, and enterprise system reliability best practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support both technical staff and business operations

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and oversees the daily operations of the assigned area by setting goals and objectives, manages schedules and work priorities, monitors and evaluates performances, facilitates access to resources and training, provides guidance and addresses issues, conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions
  • Supervises the daily operation of department applications
  • Serves as a liaison between users, technical staff, vendors and enterprise IT staff throughout technology project implementation or enhancement (i.e., requirements documentation, testing, user training, etc.)
  • Monitors technological trends and recommends new technologies in coordination with enterprise IT staff
  • Serves as technology leader within assigned department plans projects assigns staff; and, manages technology related budgets and schedules
  • Researches and analyzes business processes and issues; develops workflow analysis; assists in determining technical feasibility or proposed solutions
  • Assess potential system risk and potential user security issues; implements and monitors appropriate application security procedures
  • Prepares detailed functional specifications; writes test scripts; documents policies and procedures
  • Assists users in problem analysis, troubleshooting and resolution
