Business Systems - Product Manager
About The Position
This position is part of the Business Systems Product team supporting the CIO organization. The Business Systems team creates and delivers large-scale technology programs that increase the return on investment of Verkada’s business systems and technology and improve organizational value and performance. The team makes systems and processes more efficient, reduces manual, low-value work, and helps the company operate more effectively, make better decisions, and improve profitability. The Product Manager partners with leaders across Finance, Legal, Operations, People, Supply Chain, and other functions to address business challenges, with a primary focus on systems, data pipelines, infrastructure, and large-scale Security and IT initiatives. The role develops and implements scalable process and technology solutions, facilitates cross-functional requirements work, documents current processes and pain points, and identifies opportunities to improve workflows. It also builds lightweight technical solutions and supports end-to-end quote-to-cash processes. The position is based in San Mateo, California, and requires commuting to the office five days a week. Verkada requires candidates to be independently authorized to work in the United States and cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, finance, or another technical or analytical field.
- At least 4 years of relevant business experience.
- Basic SQL, Python, JavaScript, and HTML skills.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX tools and flowchart tools, such as Figma and Lucidchart.
- Experience designing and supporting integrations between business systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, third-party logistics providers, and expense systems.
- Understanding of key processes across the entire employee lifecycle.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to take personal ownership of tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Must be willing and able to commute to the San Mateo, California office five days per week.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is unavailable for this role.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders across Finance, Legal, Operations, People, Supply Chain, and other functions to address business challenges, focusing primarily on systems, data pipelines, infrastructure, and large-scale Security and IT initiatives.
- Implement best-practice solutions, including process changes, configurations, and custom enhancements, to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
- Work with FLOPS engineers and stakeholders to design, build, and implement engineering solutions for FLOPS deliverables.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional requirement sessions to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements and identify functional scope.
- Identify unspoken or conflicting requirements and drive meaningful change when needed.
- Prepare and review documentation of current processes, pain points, and assumptions for business systems.
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline workflows and processes across business systems and tools.
- Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards to improve the team and users’ experience and deliver long-term scalability.
- Build lightweight technical solutions using Python and JavaScript.
- Work with end-to-end quote-to-cash processes, including quoting, transacting, and billing.
