About The Position

This role supports the stability, accuracy, and continuity of APS’s core pension administration system. The Business Systems Analyst contributes analysis and support activities across day‑to‑day operations, issue management, and system updates—helping ensure that vendor‑delivered solutions operate reliably and align with APS business needs. You’ll balance operational support with release and improvement work, contributing analysis, documentation, and coordination. You care about teamwork and see the value in shared wins.

Requirements

  • University degree or diploma
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency at analyzing, troubleshooting, and critical thinking
  • Flexible communication style for clarity with non-technical users, as well as technical teams and vendors
  • Proven ability to create and maintain solid communication channels with your team and clients
  • Creativity and initiative to seek answers where documentation may not exist
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and practical understanding of integrated software systems
  • Excellent prioritization and time management in a busy work environment

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing operation of the vendor‑delivered pension administration system by assisting with issue investigation, documentation, and impact analysis
  • Contribute to incident and service request handling by gathering information, documenting findings, and supporting prioritization and escalation as needed
  • Build and deepen understanding of APS business processes by working closely with business areas, reviewing workflows, and observing how the system supports regular operations
  • Assist with identifying recurring issues or workflow challenges by tracking patterns and contributing to root‑cause analysis activities
  • Work with internal teams and the system vendor to clarify system behaviour, validate information, and support accurate issue resolution
  • Contribute to system documentation, decision records, and knowledge materials to support team consistency and auditability
  • Support system enhancements and releases by gathering requirements, doing impact analysis, and communication activities
  • Partner with the system vendor and internal teams to clarify requirements, review proposed solutions, and align release scope with APS priorities
  • Document business requirements, process flows, use cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria under APS standards and guidance
  • Assist with pre‑ and post‑implementation activities, including review of vendor release notes and identification of potential business impacts
  • Support testing and implementation activities by collaborating with Quality Assurance team members to ensure acceptance criteria are documented and covered by testing.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and responsible use of automation or AI tools to help reduce repetitive effort and improve accuracy
