Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong lateral thinking and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software packages
  • Ability to analyze issues, recommend solutions, and support resolution efforts

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Good understanding and prior experience with Commercial Lending applications (e.g., AFS Level III, Data Select CLCS, AFS Vision)
  • Subject matter expertise in business processes with hands‑on experience supporting enterprise applications
  • Advanced understanding of the applications supported, including interfacing and integrated systems
  • Strong understanding of the Bank’s application framework
  • Ability to participate effectively on Agile teams while also working independently
  • Capability to manage multiple workstreams across complex initiatives
  • Experience operating beyond day‑to‑day BAU work to support modernization, transformation, or strategic initiatives
  • Familiarity with application development platforms, testing methodologies, and enterprise integration concepts
  • Ability to present effectively to stakeholders and leadership at multiple levels
  • Strong attention to detail; proactive and solution‑oriented mindset
  • Experience supporting system conversions, acquisitions, or major platform implementations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating complex projects from proposal through post‑implementation.
  • Participating in meetings with lines of business to identify requirements related to system functionality and end‑user experience, providing guidance and feedback to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Serving as a project or functional lead to ensure test plans, specifications, and deliverables are completed on time and milestones are achieved.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in assigned systems within 18 months.
  • Preparing detailed functional specifications, test plans, test cases, and executing testing activities for assigned initiatives.
  • Conducting research and analysis of complex data to ensure functional designs are accurate and aligned to business objectives.
  • Serving as a functional lead on complex projects, coordinating activities across business partners, technology teams, vendors, and testing groups.
  • Facilitating and documenting project meetings; distributing materials and action items as needed.
  • Partnering with business clients to understand and document application changes driven by enterprise initiatives, regulatory or compliance requirements, contractual obligations, and ongoing business‑as‑usual maintenance.
  • Participating in solution design discussions; documenting and delivering functional requirements that support internal and external customer needs.
  • Providing project estimates, including timelines and phases, for large initiatives or assigned components.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and advisor regarding system impacts from enterprise‑wide initiatives such as acquisitions, product changes, or major enhancements.
  • Collaborating with vendors and technical teams to gain a thorough understanding of system functionality and implementation considerations.
  • Serving as Test Coordinator for large initiatives involving multiple applications.
  • Participating in data mapping and integration efforts related to system enhancements, conversions, acquisitions, or regulatory initiatives.
  • Monitoring scope, functional specifications, and change requests to ensure adherence to business requirements, Corporate Technology standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinating and managing post‑implementation activities, including issue resolution, stakeholder feedback, and completion of project debriefs.
  • Identifying and escalating risk‑related issues in alignment with the Company’s Risk Appetite and regulatory standards.
  • Promoting an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand and supports a sense of belonging.
  • Maintaining internal control standards, including timely remediation of audit findings and regulatory items.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
