Business Systems Analyst

About The Position

The challenge isn’t building new systems - it’s making existing ones behave predictably as complexity grows. Work gets done (or doesn’t) based on what the system allows, enforces, and records. In this Business Systems Analyst role, you’ll bridge business intent and system behaviour, ensuring enterprise platforms are configured correctly, run reliably, and produce data people can actually trust for operations, compliance, and decisions. This is a hands-on role: clarifying requirements, making smart configuration choices, supporting live issues, and tightening the logic that sits behind reporting.

Requirements

  • Turn fuzzy requests into clear, testable requirements — and won’t move forward until they make sense.
  • Technically confident in live environments and steady when things go sideways.
  • Care about stability, data integrity, and making system decisions that hold up over time.
  • 3+ years supporting and configuring ERP or core business systems in an operations‑driven environment (manufacturing strongly preferred).
  • Practical experience eliciting and validating business requirements tied to system configuration or reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SQL‑based reporting and business data models.
  • Sound judgement in live production environments.
  • Clear, structured documentation habits.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI
  • Fabric
  • SSRS
  • Exposure to manufacturing ERP modules

Responsibilities

  • Gather, validate, and document business requirements that prevent rework.
  • Design solutions aligned to approved processes and intended operational or decision outcomes.
  • Surface dependencies, risks, and constraints early — with a clear recommendation.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise systems using standard, upgrade‑safe approaches.
  • Assess downstream and cross‑system impacts before changes go live.
  • Keep the system landscape understandable as complexity grows.
  • Triage and resolve production incidents with minimal operational disruption.
  • Diagnose root cause using evidence, not assumptions.
  • Implement fixes that reduce repeat issues, not just symptoms.
  • Ensure reports reflect agreed business logic and authoritative sources of record.
  • Validate metrics so teams can rely on system‑generated insights without manual reconciliation.
  • Keep configuration decisions, business rules, and reporting logic current and traceable.
  • Enable users to execute standard processes without dependence on an individual.
