About The Position

As a Business Systems Analyst for PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta (Corporate), you will contribute to our team by driving innovation through data and AI. Our Enterprise Intelligence team is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to play a key role in enabling, scaling and evolving PCL’s AI solutions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business needs, support AI adoption and ensure team processes and standards are efficient, properly documented and effectively communicated.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, or data analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and business processes.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process modeling and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to execute.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data management and business process improvement.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum and iterative development processes is an asset.
  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing and training is a plus.
  • Experience with AI agent development is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, coordinating tasks, managing timelines and supporting delivery across cross functional teams is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and user stories for solution development.
  • Support the design and validation of business processes, policies and information system changes.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, product owners and developers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented effectively.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including process models, requirements and user manuals.
  • Assist in the design and execution of test scripts and support user acceptance testing.
  • Analyze data, identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve AI solution performance and user experience.
  • Promote best practices in data governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training materials and support to PCLers in adopting new analytics and AI solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, tools and ways of working and to actively promote a culture of continuous improvement.
