About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for preparing well-documented functional specifications, test plans, and test cases for assigned projects. This role involves research and analysis of complex data to ensure the accuracy of functional designs. The analyst will also serve as a mentor to less experienced staff, assisting with application training, research analysis, and project methodology consultation. Additionally, they will act as a functional lead on complex projects, facilitating project team meetings and documenting minutes. The role requires meeting with business clients to understand application changes related to enterprise-wide initiatives, compliance requirements, contractual agreements, or business as usual (BAU) maintenance. This includes participating in design discussions, documenting functional specifications, and reviewing business requirements with the technology team to ensure a thorough understanding of project needs. The analyst will also coordinate and provide estimates for projects, serve as a subject matter expert on application impacts from enterprise-wide initiatives, and work with vendors and technical teams to understand project functionality and implementation. They may also serve as a Test Coordinator for large projects, participate in data mapping for system integrations and conversions, and manage test cases to verify functionality. Monitoring functional specifications and change requests to ensure scope adherence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business requirements and Corporate Technology standards is crucial. The role involves ensuring efficient resolution of issues, coordinating post-implementation activities, and adhering to the Company's risk and regulatory standards. Promoting diversity and maintaining internal control standards are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare well-documented functional specifications for assigned projects.
  • Develop test plans and test cases, and execute test cases.
  • Conduct research and analysis of complex data to ensure functional design accuracy.
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff, assisting with application training, research analysis, and project methodology consultation.
  • Act as a functional lead on complex projects for assigned applications.
  • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings, documenting and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Meet with business clients to discuss requested application changes and ensure a thorough understanding of specifications.
  • Participate in design discussions and deliver required functional specifications.
  • Participate in meetings with lines of business to identify requirements and provide feedback on business requirements.
  • Review business requirements with the technology team to ensure understanding of project requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide estimates for large projects and complete estimates for assigned components.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to consult and advise on how applications may be impacted by enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Work with vendors and technical teams to gain a thorough understanding of project functionality and provide insight on implementation.
  • May serve as Test Coordinator for large project initiatives involving multiple applications.
  • Participate in and document data mapping for integration of systems, conversion, and acquisition-related projects.
  • Work with other testing teams to prepare test plans and scripts based on functional specifications.
  • Manage and/or execute test cases verifying that changes and enhancements work and perform as required.
  • Serve as functional lead with other project team members on other systems that impact the project.
  • Monitor functional specifications and change requests to ensure project stays within scope and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to business requirements and Corporate Technology standards.
  • Ensure the Bank process and documentation is followed.
  • Ensure change requests are consistently documented, reviewed, and resolved.
  • Ensure efficient and timely resolution of issues arising from testing or implementation.
  • Ensure issues, incidences, and questions are documented, reported, and resolved as required.
  • Coordinate and manage post-implementation activities, including debriefing and actual to plan analysis.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the brand.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
