About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst supports Gaylor’s business applications by evaluating, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems that enhance operational efficiency and user productivity. This role collaborates with end users, vendors, and IT teams to gather requirements, test and deploy system enhancements, ensure data integrity and system performance, and provide training and documentation to promote successful adoption of technology solutions. The analyst also monitors compliance with system standards and serves as a key resource for application support, participates in software user groups, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

  • Working technical knowledge of application development
  • Working technical knowledge of cloud application delivery methods such as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS
  • Effectively deals with all internal customers and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Possesses active listening and effective communication skills, with openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills

  • Proficiency in Viewpoint Spectrum, Autodesk, Microsoft 365 Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Four or more years’ experience supporting application software and/or hardware solutions, systems, or products in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) space, preferred
  • Proven experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains systems as well as end user documentation
  • Monitors compliance with system standards and report variations
  • Performs testing of system upgrades and patches
  • Evaluates, installs, configures, and deploys new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
  • Collaborates with analysts, engineers, specialists, software vendors and power users in the testing of new software programs and applications to ensure full adoption of features and process efficiencies
  • Collaborates with application users to create functional specification documents for fulfilling gaps
  • Works with other teams, as required, to make recommendations on efficient use of application features and capability to enhance workflow efficiencies
  • Provides orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
  • Coordinates product roadmaps across application platforms
  • Develops implementation and support plans
  • Produces documentation for system administration, configuration, and maintenance
  • Provides application support by troubleshooting and resolving system issues for assigned applications, working directly with end users, as needed
  • Resolves system functionality issues, receive, and work escalation from lower support tiers and escalate internally and with vendors as necessary
  • Monitors system for data integrity issues while working with system engineers, data engineers or vendors to resolve
  • Monitors and report system usage and performance
  • Interprets a customer’s description of a problem and determine possible solutions
