About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst role at PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton NAHQ is responsible for developing and maintaining customer-focused relationships with stakeholders, documenting requirements, analyzing business problems to identify solutions, and making recommendations. This role also involves coordinating subject matter expert workshops, identifying opportunities for improved utilization of existing business applications and processes, and integrating business process improvements with system improvements. The analyst will contribute to pilot and implementation plans, review impacts of system changes, promote adherence to best practices, gather and analyze system adoption data, conduct market scans, and provide end-user training.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in information management, information technology, business administration, computing science, or related discipline preferred.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with employees at all levels and areas of the organization.
  • Experience with SharePoint required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and make recommendations that support the project/solution and company-wide objectives.
  • Results-oriented and able to drive deadlines.
  • Experience with change management methodologies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from Business Analyst Body of Knowledge (BABOK) or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Document requirements, analyze business problems to identify solutions and make recommendations/create business cases for improvement.
  • Coordinates and facilitates subject matter expert workshops or meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for improved utilization of existing business applications and processes and integrate business process improvements with system improvements to create wholistic and cost optimized processes.
  • Contributes to pilot and implementation plans, participates in pilots and rollouts and reporting/follow-up activities.
  • Reviews impacts of upcoming system changes and assists with implementing changes to accommodate.
  • Promote adherence to processes and system best practices to maximize adoption and buy-in.
  • Gather and analyze system-adoption data and metrics, participates in process and system reviews and recommendations.
  • Conducts market scans and analysis to evaluate potential solutions.
  • Conduct end user training – classroom and web-based.
