About The Position

A Business Systems Analyst III works on projects that generally involve a complex scope. The role analyzes and documents business requirements and workflows, develops file mappings and technical specifications, and works with business partners and stakeholders to prioritize requirements. The analyst assesses system capabilities and interdependencies to define and document business solutions. Working collaboratively with the development team, the analyst provides complex technical guidance and applies effective design concepts, proposing or seeking alternative solutions when needed to balance business and technical needs. The position analyzes project scope, impact, and feasibility within defined time and cost constraints, helps prepare scoping documents, and determines appropriate business analysis approaches and deliverables. It elicits stakeholder needs, facilitates and documents requirements sessions, develops use cases and testing materials, and collaborates with business and technical teams from design through initial testing. The analyst also creates user and training guides and conducts information and training sessions as needed.

Requirements

Requires 5 to 10 years of business analysis, process mapping, or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of experience writing technical specifications, or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of experience in data analysis in an information technology operating environment, or equivalent experience.
Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts, relational databases, and their business applicability in healthcare management.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL and relational technology, with proficient query-writing experience or equivalent experience.
Two years of healthcare industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Analyze project scope, impact, and feasibility within defined time and cost constraints, with minimal direction.
Assist in preparing project scoping documents and help determine the appropriate business analysis approach and project deliverables.
Elicit customers’ and stakeholders’ underlying business needs and concerns using standard methods such as interviews and process workflows.
Facilitate and document requirements-gathering sessions with business representatives and subject matter experts; manage conflicts and competing demands and escalate difficult issues as appropriate.
Formulate probing questions and shape effective solutions to difficult problems, including those that may affect project milestones.
Clearly document business requirements in sufficient detail to support customer sign-off and completion of the Technical Design Document.
Develop comprehensive use cases to support solution development and validate them with customers.
Collaborate with the Development Team to identify data requirements and mappings, establish practical design and testing approaches, and provide suggestions and feedback.
Work with the Design and Development Team during technical design, programming, and initial testing phases.
Collaborate with the business to develop a high-level testing plan based on documented requirements.
Create comprehensive test plans and testing queries, document test results, validate outputs against business requirements, and identify defects.
Work with the Development Team to understand the effort involved in addressing defects and collaborate with the project team to prioritize and resolve them.
Create user and training guides and conduct training and information sessions for user groups as needed.
