About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst III (BSA) will represent the business community and IT to solicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business processes, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver resolutions. The BSA will partner with all levels of the organization and external parties to understand and document business requirements, processes, and workflows, developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows. The BSA will work with developers to write functional and technical specifications that achieve those requirements, serve as a subject matter expert to the developers building those functions, and work with the QA team to test the developed functionality. The BSA will negotiate agreements and commitments between business partners (internal and external) and IT from initial request and requirements gathering through to implementation, support, and maintenance. The BSA will be a subject matter expert and assist with production support of applications within their area. As a Sr. BSA, you will be responsible for mentoring other BSAs and recommending and instituting business analysis best practices, tools, and methodology towards standardization of deliverables and procedures, and collaborating with Development and QA Leads to uphold and improve SDLC processes.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Business/SME liaison back to the business leadership or IT Staff to influence, manage change, and educate for priority setting to ensure business commitments and objectives are met.
  • Lead cross-functional work sessions with both the business and IT customers to capture stakeholder needs and required system requirements/features.
  • Collaborate with PM’s in creating the Project Charter, SLAs, and Statements of Work.
  • Partners with the cross functional IT teams to identify resources required to accomplish the goals and objectives of the project.
  • Evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes on the organization.
  • Lead development, documentation, and analysis of detailed functional and/or technical requirements.
  • Lead the development of system solution design for existing and new capabilities using a thorough understanding of business process and requirements as well as system capabilities and architecture.
  • Lead the creation of integration mapping documents for application integration and working with Integration developers to bring it to fruition.
  • Lead and/or assist Quality Assurance with development of testing criteria.
  • Lead small to medium projects/change initiatives with Business, Vendors, and IT.
  • Work closely with PMs in multi-departmental large and complex projects and change initiatives.
  • Initiate problem analysis, explore solutions, prepare, and present information.
  • Provide hyper care support and post implementation monitoring during initial rollout.
  • Support production activities such as: Triage, troubleshooting, Vendor management, Data analysis (e.g., SQL / data analysis), Product and compliance requests.
  • Conduct system demonstrations and training sessions, as well as participate in design/review of training content.
  • Assist and mentor Business System Analyst I & II positions.
