About The Position

Assurity is seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to connect business users with engineers and AI solutions. The analyst leads discovery and user feedback sessions using working proofs of concept, translates business needs into clear, testable requirements, and ensures delivered solutions meet those requirements. The role owns analysis end to end, including acceptance criteria, evaluations, testing, user acceptance testing, and confirmation of completed work with business users. It also directs AI agents on substantial analysis, documentation, build, and testing work while independently verifying quality, security, and correctness. The analyst exercises professional judgment about when to use AI and follows approved tools and data rules. The position leads discovery, requirements definition, solution design, delivery coordination, and small to mid-size project scope, cost, and schedule management. It directs AI agents and may make small proof-of-concept changes with agents or n8n. Testing work includes automated regression tests and testing RESTful APIs, Windows services, and database integrations, as well as leading UAT and documenting acceptance evidence. The analyst also communicates status, measures outcomes, supports systems and users—including through an on-call rotation—contributes reusable team practices, assists Business Systems Analyst I staff, and continues professional development. The team emphasizes rapid working prototypes, quick user feedback, iterative development, ownership through production use, and maintaining current requirements, decision notes, tests, and agent context. The position is remote with occasional on-site attendance; travel arrangements and collaboration hours are communicated for the specific opening. The role includes a rotating on-call schedule after training, including nights and weekends, and occasional scheduled evening or weekend work for deployments, cutovers, migrations, and go-lives. Work may exceed 40 hours per week.

  • Hands-on experience directing AI agents on substantial analysis, documentation, or test-creation work, validating results, and practical understanding of prompting, context, retrieval, evaluations, and AI failure modes.
  • Experience with Agile development and project management, including Scrum.
  • Experience with MS SQL databases, including SQL for data validation, and Mongo; ability to read API contracts and JSON.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs, Windows services, and database integrations using tools such as Postman, Swagger, BrowserStack, Playwright, or other automated test scripting; experience creating and maintaining test suites.
  • Experience creating project charters, work summaries, and workflows in Lucid or a similar tool.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, planning, facilitation, and decision-making skills, including making and defending decisions with incomplete information.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks within timeline and budget constraints, with business acumen.

  • Talent in values, work intensity, achiever, positivity, resourcefulness, command, relationship-extension, and exactness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • After training, participation in rotating on-call coverage, including nights and weekends, with prompt response to production alerts within defined response times and escalation paths.
  • Ability to remain reachable while on call and take immediate containment actions when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of n8n, Git and GitHub, and Azure DevOps or Jira.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply repeatable AI workflows and show credible benefits in delivery time, clarity, coverage, quality, or reduced effort.

Responsibilities

  • Observe work with business users, define problems, document project and business requirements, and propose system, AI, or automation solutions.
  • Run user reaction sessions on working proofs of concept, incorporate feedback quickly, make scope and tradeoff decisions, and involve others for irreversible decisions.
  • Create flow charts, decision tables, data mappings, AI-ready specifications, and documentation; analyze how technical difficulties affect design.
  • Write acceptance criteria and confirm completed work directly with users.
  • Manage scope, cost, and schedule for small to mid-size projects; translate functional specifications into development requirements and coordinate delivery.
  • Direct approved AI agents to create and maintain requirements, decision tables, stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, test plans, and validation queries.
  • Provide AI agents with clear intent, context, constraints, and completion criteria; refine prompts and knowledge sources as requirements evolve.
  • Make small proof-of-concept changes directly with agents or n8n; validate AI-produced analysis with business needs and business users.
  • Recommend AI solutions for business processes, document material AI contributions, and follow approved tool and data rules.
  • Create test cases and evaluation cases for accuracy, failure modes, and regression, including ad hoc SQL database queries.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including automated regression testing and testing RESTful APIs, Windows services, and database integrations; analyze results and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review others’ test results as needed and coordinate and lead UAT, capturing acceptance evidence for progression from test to stage and production.
  • Estimate and log time daily, provide project status to management and end users, demonstrate functionality, and participate in meetings.
  • Baseline and report effort, quality, and adoption, including unsuccessful approaches.
  • Support systems by reviewing and resolving user questions and requests, including participation in the on-call rotation.
  • Contribute reusable templates, prompts, and context files; assist Business Systems Analyst I staff; and help refine the team’s accelerated delivery model.
  • Incorporate industry developments, including AI capabilities, into future systems and maintain skills through training and study.
  • Follow changes through production and real use, monitor monitoring and audit logs, and address issues that arise.
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage after training, respond promptly to production alerts, take appropriate immediate containment actions, and document incidents.
  • Perform occasional scheduled evening or weekend work for production deployments, cutovers, data migrations, and go-lives.
