Business Relationship Manager

FLORIDA CREDIT UNIONBelleview, FL
Onsite

About The Position

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) develops and manages relationships with small-business members whose credit needs do not involve real estate. The BRM originates, structures, and coordinates non-real-estate commercial credit within established transaction, aggregate exposure, policy, and individual lending-authority limits. The role combines proactive business development, deposit-account opening, loan-application processing, portfolio management, and coordinated onboarding support. The BRM serves as a connector across the credit union: consumer borrowing needs are referred to Retail, commercial real estate opportunities are referred to Commercial Relationship Managers (CRMs), and treasury-management needs are referred to the AVP of Treasury Management.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in business banking, small-business lending, commercial lending, credit analysis, or a closely related role.
  • Working knowledge of business financial statements, tax returns, cash-flow analysis, loan structuring, collateral, guarantees, and commercial loan documentation.
  • A current driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive small business growth by proactively prospecting, building trusted relationships with local business owners, and deepening member relationships through tailored deposit, credit, and service solutions—while maintaining accurate activity records.
  • Manage the full commercial loan lifecycle—interviewing applicants, analyzing financial documentation, structuring credit requests within policy guidelines, and ensuring complete, compliant loan files from application through closing and funding.
  • Open and support new business deposit accounts in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience through proactive outreach, issue resolution, and member education on available products and services.
  • Proactively manage assigned relationships post-closing; monitoring risk indicators, ensuring covenant and documentation compliance, and supporting collections or workouts as needed—while adhering to all regulatory, BSA/AML, and fair-lending requirements and prioritizing credit quality over production volume.
