About The Position

The Business Project Advisor – Design & Space Planning is a specialized individual contributor role supporting Evernorth’s pharmacy fulfillment footprint strategy. The role provides design and space-planning expertise to business, real estate, pharmacy operations, and engineering partners by translating operational needs into clear, accurate, and scalable layouts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in space planning, test fits, or conceptual design for operational or industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools with strong spatial measurement capability.
  • Ability to translate rough concepts into accurate, dimensioned layouts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate as a trusted individual contributor and advisor.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, This role operates in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent design efforts across geographically diverse locations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting pharmacy, healthcare, distribution, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with cold chain infrastructure including walk‑in coolers and freezers.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site expansion or footprint optimization programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual layouts, test fits, and space plans for pharmacy fulfillment, office, and hybrid facilities.
  • Provide design advisory support to footprint expansion, relocation, and optimization initiatives.
  • Rapidly iterate layout options to support decision-making, feasibility analysis, and cost optimization.
  • Perform detailed reviews and comparisons of test fit layouts versus construction documents (CDs) to ensure all space, equipment, and operational requirements are fully captured prior to construction.
  • Conduct time‑intensive design and document reviews that would otherwise fall to project leadership, allowing Footprint leads to remain focused on governance, risk management, and delivery.
  • Enable rapid, side‑by‑side comparisons across pharmacy sites by consolidating and interpreting space data such as capacity, storage, refrigeration, and cold‑chain infrastructure.
  • Reduce reliance on teams manually searching through drawings and documentation by serving as a centralized point of expertise for space‑related analysis.
  • Conduct on‑site reviews of space conditions and AutoCAD accuracy to validate assumptions and determine whether projects can be supported internally by the Business Project team (e.g., site visits focused on cooler, freezer, and specialized storage requirements).
  • Support an enterprise initiative to define, measure, and standardize cold chain and ambient drug storage capacity.
  • Translate physical layouts into measurable capacity metrics used for planning and investment decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Business Project Directors, Real Estate, Pharmacy Operations, Engineering, IT, Security, and Facilities.
  • Prepare drawings, PDFs, and presentation-ready materials for governance reviews and stakeholder discussions.
