The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the Business Process Improvement (BPI) Director I position within the Strategic Innovation and Systems Support division within Family Resources and Eligibly Services (FRES). FRES is driven by its vision to provide an integrated and streamlined approach to connect individuals to services and supports that reduce institutionalization, allow individuals to remain in their communities, and promote economic and personal self-sufficiency. Under the guidance of the Director III of SISS, the BPI Director is responsible for coordinating and strategically leading end-to-end business process improvements that enhance the client and/or staff experience, improve efficiency, and increase capacity. Responsibilities include planning required to identify, document, and support effective project execution; analyzing existing processes and/or systems; identifying ways to improve the functional area's performance to meet business objectives; partnering with the organization to develop and implement end-to-end processes that meet business objectives; facilitating the creation and use of customer journey mapping or task mapping as needed throughout the business; facilitating process mapping workshops, and training and coaching personnel in process improvement. The candidate for this role will be required to have keen analytical skills, systems knowledge and outstanding interpersonal capabilities. This position performs highly advanced (senior-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the BPI unit. Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and evaluating business function, division, or department activities; developing and evaluating budget requests; and monitoring budget expenditures. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. The BPI Director works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
