Business Process Analyst

ASG Information TechnologiesWallingford, CT
Onsite

About The Position

ASG is a managed IT service provider based in Connecticut, actively building an AI and Automations practice to help clients work smarter, reduce waste, and strategically leverage technology. This role is for a Business Process Analyst who will collaborate directly with the vCIO team and AI/Automations team. The analyst will engage deeply with clients to map their core business processes, identify inefficiencies, and translate these insights into actionable roadmaps and measurable results. The position requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and project driving, with an emphasis on direct client interaction and decision-making involvement. It is suited for individuals who enjoy engaging with people, asking critical questions, uncovering hidden inefficiencies, and developing plans to resolve them, rather than a purely desk-bound role.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years in a business analyst, process improvement, consulting, or operations role
  • Comfortable working directly with business owners and executives, not just IT teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can take something complex and make it simple
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or similar
  • Working knowledge of AI and automation tools — you do not need to be a developer but you need to know enough to have smart conversations about what is possible
  • Experience building roadmaps or project plans tied to business goals and ROI
  • Organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple client engagements at once

Nice To Haves

  • MSP or technology services experience

Responsibilities

  • Go onsite and remote with clients to map their core business processes from end to end
  • Identify automation and AI opportunities across client workflows and document them clearly
  • Partner with our vCIOs to build 12-month AI and automation roadmaps tied to real business outcomes
  • Participate in the sales and pre-sales process by helping scope engagements, present findings, and close new projects
  • Run discovery calls, process audits, and stakeholder interviews with business owners and department leads
  • Work with the AI/Automations team to hand off scoped work and stay involved through delivery
  • Track pipeline, progress, and results on active engagements and help drive accountability on the client side
  • Help us build and refine the frameworks and templates we use across all clients as the practice grows

Benefits

  • You will be part of building something new, not maintaining what already exists
  • Direct access to leadership — we are a tight team and decisions happen fast
  • Clients who are genuinely interested in evolving how they operate, not just keeping the lights on
  • A company that is investing in AI seriously, not just using it as a buzzword
  • Room to grow as the practice grows — this role has real upside
