In this vital role, the Results Delivery Office (RDO) drives transformation and builds critical capabilities that enable Amgen to respond to rapid advancements in science and technology within a rapidly changing business environment. We are looking for a Business Performance Senior Director to join our team of leaders and liaisons, working on these high priority initiatives that drive value through simplification of Amgen’s largest, cross-functional, end-to-end processes. The Business Performance Senior Director will report into the Enterprise Transformation function within RDO and will be assigned to the development and execution of one or more transformation initiatives related to end-to-end processes spanning Operations, R&D, Commercial, and/or Corporate functions.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 5 years of business strategy or transformation experience OR Master’s degree and 8years of business strategy or transformation experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of business strategy or transformation experience

Nice To Haves

  • Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred) or other sectors of healthcare industry
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives, particularly those enabled by technology, data, and AI
  • Experience working closely with product management and technical teams (e.g., Digital Product Managers, AI & Data, Technology) to deliver business outcomes
  • Ability to define business needs and support translating them into clear requirements for data- and technology-enabled solutions
  • Working knowledge of data, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities, with the ability to apply them in a business and process context
  • Experience driving process transformation in complex organizational environments
  • Experience delivering transformational change within organizations
  • Experience working in fast-changing and often ambiguous environments
  • Experience advising leaders on strategy and resolution of complex business problems

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead technology-, data-, and AI-enabled transformation initiatives with the Business Lead and Digital Product Manager
  • Be a thought partner to the initiative’s Digital Product Manager, Business Lead and Executive Sponsor, shaping strategy, solution direction, and process transformation
  • Engage sponsors and key stakeholders through effective governance and targeted interactions to drive decisions and build sponsorship
  • Frame business problems and help define requirements for technology-, data-, and AI-enabled solutions, partnering with AI & Data and Technology teams and the Digital Product Managers in solution development
  • Identify and resolve initiative issues, offer solutions, and escalate appropriately
  • Identify resources needed to deliver results, including business, process, and technical capabilities
  • Lead and coach the Initiative Team through all phases of transformation
  • Partner to support development of initiative deliverables and drive alignment across workstreams
  • Select the right transformational capabilities and tools to deliver expected results
