About The Position

We are looking for a HSES and Operational Risk Business Partner to help deliver safe and reliable outcomes across the Commercial business in the Atlantic Region, with a clear focus on the prevention of fatalities and serious injuries. In this role, you will partner closely with Buy, Sell, and Move teams to identify, manage, and continuously improve the management of HSES and operational risks across our supply chains. Commercial is a diverse and dynamic portfolio, offering exposure to a wide range of activities that support our assets and enable the delivery of our products to customers around the world. This is a unique opportunity for an influential, technically capable, and pragmatic professional to make a tangible impact on safety performance. The role involves regular travel across our supply chains (approximately 30%), working with Risk Owners to engage third‑party operators and verify that critical controls are in place and operating effectively. As part of a global functional team, you will work with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining a strong regional focus in the Atlantic. Reporting to the Senior Manager HSES, Operational Risk & Product Stewardship, based in Singapore, you will:

Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A self-starter with demonstrated leadership capability, strong communication, influencing, and change‑management skills, and the confidence to lead with inclusion and everyday respect.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience as a HSES professional, or relevant operational or commercial experience, with the capability and willingness to build and apply HSES and operational risk technical knowledge.
  • Experience in facilitating training, workshops, and team-based risk assessments
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma), or significant equivalent operational experience.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • The duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to support the effective management of HSES and operational risks across the Commercial business.
  • Coach, support, and influence leaders on the application of HSES and operational risk systems, including (but not limited to) implementing HSES standards, critical control verifications (CRM), incident and injury management, and Business Resilience planning and preparedness.
  • Provide in‑field coaching to Risk Owners responsible for Dangerous Goods and other Logistics supply chains, with a focus on performing and strengthening critical control verifications.
  • Lead a network of HSES Champions across the Commercial business in the Atlantic Region to extend HSES capability, influence, and support.
  • Identify, develop, and implement of HSES improvement initiatives that address material risks and improve safety outcomes.
  • Analyse HSES performance data and trends to support insight‑driven improvement planning and improved safety outcomes.
  • Contribute to a strong psychological safety culture by supporting leaders and teams to speak up, learn, and continuously improve.
