$150,000 - $250,000Onsite

About The Position

AfterQuery is hiring a Business Operations lead to work directly with our CEO as we scale to become one of the fastest-growing AI companies of all time. You will be the operational backbone of the company—owning our hiring pipeline, managing day-to-day administration, and ensuring the founding team's time is protected and focused on what matters most. This is an in-person role. You'll be embedded with the founding team in San Francisco, moving at the speed of the company.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience at a top investment bank, consulting firm, or private equity firm
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex information and drive clarity
  • Track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes projects and delivering results under tight timelines
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable with data, metrics, and building lightweight tools/dashboards
  • Obsessive attention to detail paired with strategic thinking and business judgment
  • Extreme ownership mentality—you see problems and fix them without being asked
  • Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments; comfortable with rapid context-switching
  • Collaborative, low-ego, high-trust operator who earns respect through execution

Nice To Haves

  • Technical background or strong technical fluency (ability to engage credibly with engineering and research teams)
  • Experience across multiple functions: operations, strategy, finance, go-to-market, product, recruiting

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting end-to-end, from sourcing and top-of-funnel outreach to coordinating interviews and work trials, managing candidate relationships, and managing external recruiters. You'll be the operational force that keeps hiring moving quickly and without gaps.
  • Support the company's administrative infrastructure: financials (payroll, expense tracking, vendor payments, invoicing), real estate and lease management, office setup, and any other operational foundations that keep the business running smoothly.
  • Step in wherever the founding team needs support, whether that's prepping materials for customer calls, tracking deal progress, drafting contracts, or solving cross-functional bottlenecks as they arise.
  • Serve as the right hand to the CEO across whatever the company needs most. This includes driving decision-making, owning high-priority cross-functional projects, and external communications, building and refining company operating cadences, monitoring core business metrics, identifying and eliminating operational bottlenecks, and acting as organizational glue as the team scales. If it matters to the company and doesn't have a clear owner, it's yours.
