About The Position

The Business Operations Intern – Internal Communications will support the Business Operations team in strengthening how information flows across the organization. This role focuses on creating clear, consistent, and accessible internal communications that support operational efficiency, employee engagement, and alignment across departments. The intern will work closely with Business Operations, IT, and cross-functional teams to help develop, organize, and maintain internal communications delivered through tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration platforms. This is a hands-on role designed for someone interested in operations, communications, and how effective internal messaging supports business execution.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Operations, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to clarity, structure, and tone
  • Ability to organize information logically and present it clearly
  • Comfort working with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team

  • Interest in business operations, process improvement, or internal communications
  • Experience writing for internal or professional audiences
  • Familiarity with content management systems, intranet platforms, or knowledge bases

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and publish internal communications including announcements, updates, summaries, and process documentation
  • Assist with creating clear, concise content for internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint intranet pages, Teams posts, internal presentations)
  • Translate complex operational or technical topics into employee-friendly messaging
  • Support organization and maintenance of internal content to ensure a clear “source of truth”
  • Help improve content structure, navigation, and usability across internal communication channels
  • Audit existing internal communications and flag opportunities for clarity, consistency, and improvement
  • Partner with Business Operations, IT, HR, and other teams to support communication needs tied to projects, tools, and process changes
  • Gather input from stakeholders and synthesize information into well-structured communications
  • Support rollout communications for new systems, tools, or operational initiatives
  • Assist in documenting workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal guidelines
  • Help track engagement and effectiveness of internal communications
  • Contribute ideas to improve how information is shared across the organization
