About The Position

FOCUS is a Catholic outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the Gospel with college students and beyond. As our apostolate continues to grow, strong internal communication is essential to help our staff stay aligned, informed, and mission-focused. As our organization continues to grow, we’re seeking an Internal Communications Manager to shape how we communicate our mission, strategy, and culture across the apostolate. This role will help ensure we have the systems, channels, and clarity needed to keep our staff aligned, informed, connected, and free to live the mission. In this role, you will serve as a key partner in shaping and delivering organization-wide messaging. You’ll translate priorities into clear, actionable communication, strengthen staff understanding and engagement, and build communication systems that scale with a growing and dynamic organization. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who is both strategic and detail-oriented - a leader who enjoys bringing clarity to complexity, driving consistency, and helping teams communicate more effectively while strengthening our shared narrative and mission - all in a place where you can leave a lasting mark. You'll play a key part in heling our staff stay aligned and focused on mission. By improving how we communicate, you'll help create clarity, reduce friction and free our missionaries and staff to do what they do best - share the Gospel.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to translate organizational priorities into clear, actionable communication across teams
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a desire to improve systems and processes
  • Experience with or willingness to learn tools such as Workshop, Smartsheets, SharePoint, and other HR/communication systems
  • Background in communications, marketing, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in change management or navigating growth and organizational scale

Responsibilities

  • Develop and organize key messaging across the organization, including presentations, talking points, and all-staff communications (e.g., quarterly All-Hands meetings)
  • Serve as the primary liaison for departmental communication needs, gathering and synthesizing input across teams to drive alignment
  • Support and evolve the internal communications strategy based on data, feedback, and organizational priorities
  • Manage and continuously improve our weekly internal newsletter, including content planning, writing, and coordination
  • Strengthen employee understanding and engagement by improving communication channels, tools, and governance
  • Research and implement best practices in internal communications, identifying systems that support scale and effectiveness
  • Partner closely with the Director and senior leadership to ensure messaging reflects organizational priorities, mission, and culture
