About The Position

As a Business Manager on the Systematic Business Management team, you will partner with colleagues across Boston and London to support the operations, growth, and strategic priorities of the Systematic business unit. This role offers variety, requiring ownership of problems and fluid movement between independent workstreams and close cross-functional collaboration. A background in investment management, product structuring, or experience within an investment management organization will be beneficial. The role involves supporting product governance, leading projects, improving processes, managing data, coordinating meetings, and providing ad-hoc strategic support in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Management, Finance, or a related field
About 5 years of experience in project management, business management, or a comparable operational role
Ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical thinking, able to synthesize information from multiple sources and deliver actionable insights
Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities
Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end: scoping requirements, setting timelines, delegating tasks, and driving deliverables to completion
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust quickly across teams and levels of seniority
Ability to identify team needs, synthesize information, and present clear recommendations to management
Comfort in building relationships with key stakeholders across a global organization
Self-directed and resourceful — prioritize workload, operate effectively in ambiguity, and drive work forward without detailed instructions
Comfortable wearing multiple hats — shift between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
Strong proficiency in productivity and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and comfort leveraging AI tools
Genuine curiosity about how the Systematic business unit, and Man Group more broadly operates

Nice To Haves

Technical aptitude or familiarity with development lifecycles
Experience with investment product structuring or fund operations

Responsibilities

Support the growth of the Systematic Micro and Macro product ecosystem, including onboarding coordination, documentation, and lifecycle tracking.
Lead projects of varying size, complexity, and subject matter, primarily supporting investment-related initiatives but also spanning central functions like Legal, Operations, Technology, and Compliance.
Proactively identify areas for business process streamlining or strengthening, propose and coordinate improvements, and understand the unit's operational risk landscape.
Maintain and organize key business data, including terms and agreement tracking, operational risk, commercial data, and project dashboards.
Prepare materials for and coordinate meetings and committees, driving follow-ups and accountability on action items.
Step into emerging challenges with energy and resourcefulness to respond to evolving business needs.
