About The Position

The Marketing, Messaging & Personalization (MM&P) team is on a mission to revolutionize our messaging infrastructure and strategy, and our Marketing & Messaging Analytics (MMA) team is at the forefront of this transformation. We’re a dynamic group of analysts dedicated to setting strategic priorities to drive business value and providing deep analytical support for our product partners who own the platforms that enable 2 billion monthly messages delivered across our outbound delivery channels: Email, Push Notifications, and SMS. This specific role places you at the heart of our emerging channels, namely Push. As a Business Manager focused on emerging channels, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our digital messaging future. Your primary responsibilities will be: Serve as a Channel Subject Matter Expert: Develop a comprehensive understanding of and make improvements to our data infrastructure to ensure greater confidence in how we understand delivery and subsequent customer actions Influence Downstream Partners: Act as a strategic advisor to downstream LOBs, educating and guiding them on how to accurately interpret performance metrics and understand the long-term, broader impacts of opt-outs. Advance Channel Expansion & Testing: Collaborate with LOB analysts to execute an ambitious, value-focused testing agenda. Translate complex experiment outcomes into strategic recommendations that expand channel capabilities and maximize business impact. Drive Enterprise Marketing Incrementally: Partner closely with the Enterprise Marketing team to support their campaign agendas, developing robust measurement methodologies to isolate and prove the true incremental lift of marketing across channels.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • Leadership: May manage and develop 1-2 analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One
  • Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product level modeling/analytics
  • Marketing: Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies
  • Credit Risk: Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
  • Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
