About The Position

The Business Manager for Heart and Vascular Services is responsible for the non-clinical functions of the Heart and Vascular Service Line. This includes financial activities such as reporting, budget preparation, analysis, projections, proformas, and revenue and expense accounting. The role also involves inventory and supply management, ensuring 100% charge capture, reconciliation, and billing completion in collaboration with strategic sourcing. The Business Manager works with the Executive Director and team to meet fiscal responsibilities and collaborates with Heart and Vascular Services leadership and the Senior Financial Specialist on system-wide projects. A key responsibility is managing the charge master to ensure it is current and compliant with Medicare and Medicaid billing practices. The position also assists in maintaining readiness for regulatory requirements like Joint Commission and DHSR, supports revenue management through supervision of the Reimbursement Analyst, reviews daily billing charges, and oversees system-wide charge master updates. Productivity management, including analysis and recommendations for improvement, is also part of the role. A focus on managing concepts of operations and identifying opportunities for improvement in patient safety and operational efficiency is expected. The position reports to the Executive Director of Heart and Vascular Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 3 Years Accounting/Finance - Finance Required

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial activities including reporting, budget preparation, analysis, projections, proformas, and revenue and expense accounting.
  • Oversee inventory and supply management, ensuring 100% charge capture, reconciliation, and billing completion.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and implement system-wide projects.
  • Manage the charge master to ensure it is current and reflects proper billing practices according to Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Assist in maintaining continuous readiness for Joint Commission, DHSR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise the Reimbursement Analyst.
  • Review daily billing charges and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Perform maintenance and annual updates of the System-wide Charge Master.
  • Analyze productivity and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Create and manage monthly reports for financial, productivity, patient experience scores, and other statistical analysis.
