About The Position

The Business Management Associate, Retail and Pet Sales Intern role at General Mills is an opportunity within the North America Retail (NAR) business, a $11 billion retail food business in the U.S. and Canada with a diverse portfolio of iconic brands. NAR is a customer-centric organization focused on grocery and convenience channels, aiming to be the undisputed leader in food and the most innovative food company in North America. The internship also offers exposure to the North America Pet segment, a $50B category in the US, which includes brands like Blue Buffalo, aiming to be the undisputed leader in premium and super premium pet food. This internship is designed to build depth and breadth of understanding of the business and customers, utilizing business dynamics and analytical tools to provide solution-based insights and influence decision-makers. Interns will work on business development, product introductions, category management, pricing, and analytics, while building internal and external relationships through cross-functional projects, trade shows, mentorships, and diversity organizations. The program includes a 1-week enhanced intern orientation and sales training, foundational selling skills and product knowledge development, and individualized development for professional success. Interns will present to senior leadership at the end of the internship and receive professional performance feedback through two appraisals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, Open to all majors
  • Graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Minimum 18-year age qualification

Responsibilities

  • Active engagement/ownership on a variety of sales division projects, each designed to build depth and breadth of understanding of our business and customers

  • Recommend core business strategies and receive hands-on experience internally and with customers
  • Work on business development, product introductions, category management, pricing and analytics
