About The Position

Royal Credit Union is seeking caring, energetic team members for a Business Loan Credit Analyst Intern position. This role offers students interested in commercial lending the opportunity to gain real-world experience by analyzing financial information, supporting credit decisions, and learning about commercial lending and risk assessment from experienced professionals. Applicants must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area, include a resume, cover letter, transcript, and anticipated graduation date. The selected intern must commit to the full 12 months, be enrolled in a university throughout the internship, and be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI.

Requirements

Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Business, Banking, or a related field of study.
Interest in commercial lending, finance, or credit analysis, along with a basic understanding of financial statements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with close attention to detail and a consistent commitment to accuracy when reviewing financial and supporting information.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of Member and organizational information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, plus the ability to readily learn new technologies and systems while demonstrating a willingness to learn.
Must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area.
Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI.
Must be able to commit to the full 12 months.
Must be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship.

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience in a customer service, office, banking, accounting, or finance-related environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring by reviewing borrower financial information, loan applications, tax returns, bank statements, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Complete financial statement spreading, cash flow analysis, covenant testing, and related financial reviews.
Research borrowers, industries, market trends, and peer performance to support underwriting and risk assessment.
Prepare and organize credit presentations, annual reviews, renewals, loan reviews, third-party reports, and other underwriting documentation while ensuring information is accurate, consistent, confidential, and aligned with department standards.
