About The Position

Launch your finance career as a Credit Analyst Intern, where you’ll analyze real-world data, work with experienced professionals, and develop critical skills that will set you apart in the industry! Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a full-time Credit Analyst Intern for the summer of 2027 in either our Mechanicsburg, PA, Lewisburg, PA, or Reedsville, PA branch location. The intern’s location during the summer of 2027 will be considered prior to placement. There may be flexibility for alternative locations. The selected candidate will participate in a paid 10-12-week internship. Summer Intern hours are typically Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The internship program is scheduled to run from mid-May through early August 2027. As a Credit Analyst Intern at Horizon Farm Credit, you will gain an understanding of credit philosophies and lending activities for agricultural producers and agribusinesses. This is a terrific opportunity to get in-depth experience and learn the primary responsibilities of a credit underwriter. In this role, you will lead two to three high-impact projects designed to deliver meaningful value to the department. You will also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, visit farming operations, participate in social events with other interns, and give back to the community.

Requirements

  • Ambitious student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong academic background and a GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Experience with Coursework in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Portfolio Management and Analysis, Business Logistics, Auditing, Finance, and Financial compliance/regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and proven self-starter.
  • Detail-oriented, independent judgment skills, strong organizational skills.
  • Flexible to a changing work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred expected graduation dates between May 2028 – December 2029.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial trend analysis and assist with the loan approval process.
  • Learn resources and techniques for underwriting new and existing customers.
  • Gain experience with a variety of business types, borrower structures, and loan requests.
  • Networking opportunities with analysts, credit officers, and loan staff.
  • Networking opportunities with industry partners and fellow interns.
  • Exposure to a variety of roles and responsibilities, providing a holistic view of how Farm Credit supports its customers and community members.
