Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with an outstanding academic record.
  • Active Bar Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Three (3) to Four (4) years of substantive commercial litigation experience within a reputable law firm setting.
  • Exceptional legal research, drafting, and written advocacy capabilities.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with a self-motivated, collaborative, and team-oriented work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a state or federal judicial clerkship.
  • Prior experience taking or defending depositions, or appearing in court for substantive motion hearings.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with electronic discovery platforms and litigation management software.
  • Proven capability to manage complex case timelines and coordinate multi-faceted litigation workflows independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting rigorous legal research, drafting dispositive motions, pleadings, appellate briefs, and persuasive legal memoranda across state and federal venues.
  • Directing complex discovery proceedings, including formulating interrogatories, managing document reviews, and coordinating electronic discovery (e-discovery).
  • Supporting trial teams in preparing for depositions, evidentiary hearings, arbitrations, and courtroom proceedings.
  • Formulating strategic legal theories and risk assessments for corporate clients, business owners, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Interfacing directly with client representatives, opposing counsel, and judicial officers with professionalism, efficiency, and commercial acumen.
