About The Position
The Business Intelligence Developer at TherapyNotes designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role turns raw data into useful insights through interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations, primarily using Microsoft Power BI. The developer works with stakeholders to understand analytics needs, builds and optimizes data models and reporting solutions, and ensures reports are accurate, reliable, usable, and appropriately access-controlled. The role also uses AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve development efficiency, while evaluating AI-generated work for accuracy, performance, and adherence to Power BI best practices. It provides documentation, guidance, and training to users and contributes to analytics and data-governance best practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience developing business intelligence or analytics solutions using Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Strong experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve productivity and efficiency in Power BI development.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated solutions and validate their accuracy, performance, and adherence to Power BI development best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and present insights clearly and meaningfully.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and careful attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models, perform data transformations, and optimize queries for performance.
- Connect and integrate Power BI with SQL databases, Excel files, and cloud-based data services.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate access controls across reports and dashboards.
- Monitor and optimize report performance, usability, and reliability.
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT to accelerate Power BI development, including work on DAX expressions, data models, and reporting solutions.
- Provide documentation, guidance, and training to end users on effective use of business intelligence tools.
- Enhance reporting solutions based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
- Support broader analytics initiatives and help establish best practices for data visualization, reporting, and data governance.
