Zig Up is seeking a curious, motivated and analytical individual to join its Business Intelligence team as an apprentice. The role combines hands-on experience with structured apprenticeship training and is designed to help the apprentice begin a career in data and business intelligence. Working alongside experienced BI analysts and data engineers, the apprentice will learn to turn data into insights that support informed business decisions. Training and support will help develop skills in reporting, data analysis and visualisation, including tools such as Microsoft Power BI, SQL and Microsoft Fabric; prior expertise in these tools is not required. The apprentice will gain experience creating and maintaining reports, dashboards and visualisations; preparing and analysing data; checking data accuracy and investigating reporting issues; testing reports and updates; documenting requirements and processes; and learning about data quality, governance, security and reporting best practices. Development will include Power BI data modelling, Power Query and basic DAX, as well as exposure to Microsoft Fabric dataflows, pipelines, Lakehouses and SQL databases. Programme entry requires one of the following: a Level 3 qualification plus at least 12 months of work experience; a business-related degree such as business, finance, economics or maths; a non-business-related degree plus at least six months of work experience; or, for existing staff, at least two years of relevant work experience. The working week is 37.5 hours. The posting notes that QA reports 90% of its apprentices secure permanent employment after completing their apprenticeship.
