About The Position

The Business Development Strategy Director drives high-priority initiatives and advances strategy across Wolters Kluwer’s Health Research Segment. The role leads operational programs and projects that affect revenue and segment KPIs, and provides consultative support on long-range goals and strategic projects requiring additional expertise and analysis. It provides leadership to senior managers and high-level professionals without appreciable direction and works closely with the SVP & GM, Health Research Segment and the segment leadership team. The Director helps define the segment’s long-term strategy and growth agenda, including portfolio priorities, investment choices, competitive positioning, and new growth platforms. The role identifies and assesses growth opportunities, market and technology developments—including emerging AI capabilities—and potential build, buy, or partner decisions. It collaborates across Wolters Kluwer functions to advance initiatives and go-to-market efforts, while bringing an enterprise-wide perspective to product, publishing, commercial, advertising, innovation, and inorganic growth priorities. The position combines long-range strategy with near-term business priorities, translating market, customer, financial, and operating insights into decisions, actions, and executive narratives. Success requires project management, analytical thinking, consulting-style communication, stakeholder influence, collaboration, business judgment, and executive-level storytelling. Travel may be required up to 25%, with requirements varying according to team needs and events.
