About The Position

The Business Development Specialist drives new revenue by prospecting, making high-volume cold calls, and converting leads into sales. This role focuses on consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals while accurately entering and managing sales orders in internal systems and Excel-based databases.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of sales or business development experience.
  • Proven experience with inside sales and business development activities, including cold calling.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including working with databases and data entry.
  • Experience with sales order entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and quality in customer interactions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with prospects over the phone.
  • Ability to work toward and achieve defined sales goals and performance metrics.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a contract-to-hire or similar fast-paced sales environment.
  • Comfort working with Excel databases for tracking sales activities and customer information.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools related to sales order entry and customer management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset with a focus on winning new business.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify new business opportunities through high-volume outbound cold calls.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics on a consistent basis.
  • Conduct inside sales activities, including follow-up calls, lead nurturing, and relationship building with prospective customers.
  • Qualify prospects, understand their needs, and present appropriate solutions to win new business.
  • Perform accurate and timely sales order entry into internal systems and Excel databases.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of leads, contacts, and sales activities using Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoff of new business and accurate order processing.
  • Monitor personal performance metrics and take proactive steps to improve call volume, conversion rates, and overall sales results.
  • Follow established sales processes and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality customer interactions.
  • Adhere to attendance and schedule expectations to support reliable sales coverage during business hours.
