About The Position

Datavations is a leading New York-based data and AI software company specializing in the building materials industry. Our platform uses Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to provide manufacturers with a data-driven approach to better service customers and grow key account relationships. We help businesses optimize pricing, inventory, and product assortment by simplifying complex datasets into actionable business insights. This role is for a strategic partner to bridge the gap between our innovative technology and the leaders who need it. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will be the primary growth driver for prospective outbound engagement. You will be delivering the "next generation" of market research that helps leaders win their category. You will own the top-of-funnel strategy, identifying how our data can solve specific pain points for manufacturers in various industries. You will not be cold-dialing random SMB lists or following outdated scripts. Instead, you will be assigned a named book of Fortune 1000 manufacturers, accounts already identified as best-fit prospects, and your job will be to open the door at each of them. You will run a strategic campaign against a defined account list with full creative latitude. You will work three days a week in our NYC office, sitting alongside the CEO, CRO, and Head of Growth. You will have access to AI tools, enrichment platforms, and the budget to build workflows that enhance your speed and efficiency, and we expect you to build new ones.

Requirements

  • 1-3 Years of Experience: Proven track record of exceeding quotas in a B2B SaaS environment (alternative data is a plus).
  • Background in building materials, retail, CPG, or alternative data — or a clear, demonstrated obsession with one of those industries.
  • Technical Curiosity: Ability to hold your own in a conversation about LLMs, API integrations, and data privacy.
  • AI-native: Experience building workflows with Claude, Clay, ChatGPT, or similar, and ability to demonstrate what you've built.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: Thrives in the ambiguity of an early-stage startup and proactively fixes broken processes.
  • Methodology Driven: Proficient in frameworks like MEDDIC, BANT, or Gap Selling to qualify opportunities deeply.
  • Data Literate: Uses CRM data (Salesforce/HubSpot) to analyze growth and identify pivots.
  • Grit: Resourceful, looks for new ways to open doors, and views rejection as a data point.
  • Data Storyteller: Excited by understanding prospect's unique market needs and translating complex data insights into a compelling narrative.
  • Values Ownership: Thrives in an environment focused on merit over titles and wants growth determined by impact.
  • High EQ: Empathetic with interpersonal skills to navigate conversations with senior corporate executives.

Responsibilities

  • Build hyper-personalized multi-channel outbound prospecting strategies (Email, LinkedIn, Video, and AI-Voice) targeting technical leaders (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and Head of AI).
  • Use AI agents and workflow tools to scale personalization without losing it.
  • Map out organizational structures to identify key decision-makers and influencers within the Sales and Digital Shelf departments.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities by delivering the Datavations value proposition with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales leadership to optimize the conversion process and refine messaging for new retail verticals.
  • Book qualified discovery meetings with VPs of Sales, CMOs, Heads of National Accounts, Directors of Trade Marketing, and similar roles at target accounts.
  • Run weekly account reviews with the Head of GTM on how your book is moving and what's getting traction.
  • Contribute to the playbook by identifying successful strategies at top accounts that can be templated for other reps.
