About The Position

Mendelia is building AI employees for healthcare administration. We help clinics automate complex insurance workflows like prior authorizations, benefits verification, and patient assistance programs — reducing administrative burden and helping patients access care faster. We’re backed by Y Combinator and work with specialty practices across the US. We’re looking for an ambitious Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us grow. You’ll work directly with the founders to identify, engage, and qualify new healthcare customers. This is an opportunity to join an early-stage startup, have direct impact on revenue, and help shape the future of healthcare operations.

Requirements

  • No previous sales experience needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple conversations at once
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly
  • Excited about startups
  • Interest in healthcare, AI, or workflow automation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into healthcare providers or healthcare IT
  • Familiarity with prior authorization, revenue cycle management, or payer workflows
  • Experience using tools like HubSpot, Apollo, Clay, Salesforce, or Outreach
  • Previous startup experience

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and engage healthcare practices through email, phone, LinkedIn, and conferences
  • Identify and qualify decision makers across operations, revenue cycle, and patient access teams
  • Schedule demos and discovery calls for the founding team
  • Research target accounts and personalize outbound messaging
  • Manage and maintain CRM hygiene
  • Help refine outbound strategy, messaging, and sales processes
  • Collaborate closely with founders to relay market feedback
