About The Position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) serves as the primary driver of our organic growth strategy. This field-based sales position is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding referral partnerships with trade professionals, property management companies, and insurance agencies throughout the service area. The BDR’s mission is to establish us as the preferred mitigation and restoration partner by delivering value to referral partners, solving operational challenges, and protecting their reputations through rapid response and exceptional service. Success in this role is measured by the development of long-term referral relationships, execution of partnership agreements, and the generation of consistent, high-volume referral opportunities. All team members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a positive attitude. The BDR must be highly self-motivated, adaptable during surge events, and committed to representing us with excellence in all interactions. As a public-facing representative of the company, the BDR must be capable of building trust and credibility with a wide range of audiences—from field technicians and contractors to property managers, executives, and insurance professionals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow a sales territory from the ground up.

  • Highly organized with strong territory management, time management, and documentation skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in outside sales, business development, restoration, construction, or a related industry.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Albi or similar platforms and Google Workspace applications is a plus.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing B2B partnerships, referral networks, or commercial accounts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain approximately 80% of field activity within designated priority markets (Omaha and Council Bluffs).
  • Develop and manage a structured account strategy by categorizing prospects with priority characteristics.
  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new referral partners within assigned territories.
  • Execute the referral fee strategy to secure corporate plumbing companies and their technicians’ loyalty.
  • Secure zero-cost Emergency Response Agreements (ERAs) with property management firms and conduct educational “Lunch & Learns” insurance agencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with lead response standards, including the five-minute contact requirement for referred opportunities.
  • Accurately document all sales activities, contacts, meetings, organizations, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless handoff and execution of referred projects.
  • CRM adoption and maintenance; including consistent activity tracking, opportunity management, and timely updates to ensure visibility into sales efforts, relationship development, and pipeline performance.

  • Referral Partner Commission: Earn $100 per completed job generated from a referral partner within your network.
  • New Account Revenue Bonus: Earn a one-time $5,000 bonus for each newly acquired account once that account generates $100,000 in cumulative revenue.
