About The Position

Reporting to the Business Development Manager - Fire Protection, the Business Development Representative will play a crucial role in driving growth and promoting our innovative fire protection solutions. This position is heavily focused on building relationships with Owners, C-Suite Executives, and Fire Protection Engineers, with an emphasis on candidates who have technical expertise and established connections within the Toronto fire protection market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical field with fire protection experience; MBA is a significant asset.
  • Extensive technical background in fire protection systems, design, and applications.
  • Proven track record in sales and relationship management within the fire protection industry, particularly with owners, C-Suite executives, and Fire Protection Engineers in the Toronto market.
  • Experience achieving targets and successfully navigating complex sales cycles with engineering firms and building owners.
  • Deep understanding of fire protection systems, portfolios, and solutions.
  • Familiarity with Victaulic products or ability to quickly learn technical product specifications.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey technical and business information to diverse audiences, from engineers to C-Suite executives, with a professional demeanor and focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Ability to facilitate strategic introductions and conduct product-focused meetings with confidence.
  • Based in or near Toronto to cover the surrounding area.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to provide provincial coverage when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities by building and nurturing relationships with owners, C-Suite executives, Fire Protection Engineers, and key decision-makers.
  • Leverage your knowledge of the Toronto market and fire protection industry to drive adoption of Victaulic's fire protection solutions through strategic introductions and relationship building.
  • Engage in detailed technical discussions around fire protection systems, portfolios, and solutions with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct multiple product-focused meetings to demonstrate the technical capabilities and advantages of Victaulic's fire protection offerings.
  • Collaborate on specification updates and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Victaulic's fire protection product scope, technical specifications, market applications, and services.
  • Develop compelling business cases that demonstrate the value and ROI of Victaulic's fire protection solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Articulate technical advantages and business benefits with clarity and confidence to C-Suite and engineering audiences.
  • Establish and sustain close contact with owners, executives, and Fire Protection Engineers to influence decision-making and drive product adoption.
  • Conduct presentations and meetings with key stakeholders to support business development initiatives and specification processes.
  • Facilitate introductions between key industry players to expand business networks and opportunities.
