Longtime distributor Plumbmaster has been the premier source of more than 20,000 top-quality plumbing repair and replacement parts since 1928. Marcone Plumbing serves all major professional market channels, including educational, healthcare, hospitality, correctional and government markets in the U.S. and Canada. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth across complex, mulit-territroy customers within key channels including Multi-Family, Hospitality, MRO Contractors, and Wholesale Distribution. This role leads strategic initiatives through manufacturer representative agencies and direct distribution, managing large projects and regional/ national accounts. The BDM partners closely with District Managers, the Regional Vice President, and field sales teams to expand specifications, strengthen customer relationships, and grow the Speakman and Wolverine Brass brands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive sales or business development experience, preferably in plumbing, construction, or building products.
  • Experience managing complex accounts, projects, or multi-territory customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturer representative agencies to drive Speakman specifications in Hospitality and Multi-Unit New Construction, and Renovation.
  • Expand Wolverine Brass distribution through plumbing wholesalers.
  • Manage large scale projects and multi-territory, high value accounts across districts.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including market analysis, account strategies, specifications, upgrades, and growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to secure national specifications, retain business, and improve margins.
  • Analyze customer data and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead RFP development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely, effective customer support.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 75% as required.
