About The Position

Golden State Dermatology is one of California’s fastest-growing, physician-led dermatology groups, aggressively expanding its footprint across California and other states with over 45 locations. The Corporate Development team is responsible for driving the organization’s strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and de novo development. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, conducting in-depth market research, sourcing acquisition targets, and identifying/securing de novo locations that align with the organization’s long-term growth objectives in the dermatology sector. The position offers significant opportunities for professional growth and requires travel.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 2+ years in corporate development, sales, investment banking, private equity, with a proven track-record of sourcing opportunities or sales.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to reach out and engage with potential acquisition targets through unsolicited calls, in-person visits, and leading industry conferences.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and ensure alignment on key initiatives.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of projects and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel: Comfortable with and able to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • An MBA is a plus, but not required.
  • Healthcare Expertise: Experience in the healthcare or dermatology sector is highly desirable, especially with deal sourcing / sales and interacting with physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to identify and drive strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, mergers, partnerships, and expansion strategies, all focused on fueling the company’s long-term success.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in dermatology and healthcare to pinpoint promising acquisition targets and potential new office locations.
  • Be the “face” of Golden State Dermatology, engaging directly with dermatology practices to discover and source potential acquisition targets, including through cold calling, personalized emails, in-person office visits and industry networking.
  • Create and present dashboards to senior leadership, tracking pipeline activity and sourcing progress.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify, plan, and build new office locations, contributing to the company’s growth and footprint expansion.
