About The Position

MATTR is seeking a Business Development Manager to build its North American market presence and turn commercial opportunities into lasting success. MATTR provides a SaaS platform that enables organisations to issue, verify and accept digital credentials, supporting secure and privacy-respecting digital interactions. The successful candidate will serve as MATTR’s primary presence in North America, developing relationships, partnerships and pipeline across government, financial services, fraud prevention and identity verification. The role owns the sales journey from opening doors and shaping pilots through closing contracts and growing customer accounts. It takes a partner-first approach, positioning MATTR as neutral, interoperable technology that gives customers flexibility across providers and integration partners. The role also brings customer and competitor insights back to MATTR to inform strategy, messaging and the product roadmap, while working independently and staying connected with the global team.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development or enterprise sales across North America, ideally within government, financial services, identity verification or fraud prevention.
  • A track record of owning a revenue target and closing complex deals involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Working understanding of digital identity and credentials, including relevant public-sector procurement and certification requirements.
  • Experience generating business through both partners and direct sales.
  • Confidence and initiative to represent MATTR in the region, work independently and remain connected with a global team.
  • Strong commercial judgement and CRM discipline.
  • Collaborative approach, including sharing effective practices, contributing to playbooks and campaigns, and involving others when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Established relationships across government, financial services, identity verification or fraud prevention.
  • Hands-on experience navigating public-sector procurement cycles.
  • Exposure to partner-led or OEM distribution models.

Responsibilities

  • Develop direct and partner-sourced opportunities across government, financial services, fraud prevention and identity verification.
  • Qualify leads, establish clear next steps and progress opportunities through to signed contracts in collaboration with colleagues handling initial enquiries.
  • Shape proofs of concept and pilots, coordinate commercial and contracting inputs, and develop a clear path to deployment.
  • Own named accounts and partner relationships, creating account plans that support expansion and renewals and identify risks early.
  • Support public-sector procurement, RFx and tender responses, and identify certification or compliance gaps that could affect deals.
  • Plan events and speaking opportunities to build connections and generate qualified pipeline.
  • Share customer insights and competitor developments to inform MATTR’s strategy, messaging and product roadmap.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records with a clear owner, value, close date and next step for every opportunity.
  • Represent MATTR in North America and contribute collaboratively to playbooks and campaigns, bringing in support when needed.

Benefits

  • Autonomy to build connections, pursue opportunities and take ownership of a key region.
  • Opportunity to work alongside a global team on digital identity challenges, with varied work and the chance to deepen expertise in an evolving field.
