About The Position

Aquatech is a global provider of water and process technology solutions, addressing water scarcity and complexity through technology, expertise, and financing. They focus on reducing carbon and recycled-water footprints for major companies, aiding in water reuse, desalination, minimal/zero liquid discharge, and critical minerals recovery. This role is for a full-time Business Development Manager - Mining & Metals, working remotely, preferably in the Southwestern USA. The position is a front-end commercial role focused on lead generation, opportunity qualification, and early-stage deal development within the mining sector. The manager will collaborate with Commercial Excellence, Technical Sales, and Proposal teams to transform identified needs into qualified opportunities for Aquatech's advanced solutions. Success depends on the ability to establish connections, build credibility with mining stakeholders, and advance opportunities through structured commercial processes.

  • Experience selling to: Mining operators (copper, gold, iron ore, lithium excluded).
  • Experience selling to: EPC firms or project developers.
  • Familiarity with advanced water treatment technologies (membranes, thermal processes, reuse systems).
  • Experience working within structured Commercial Excellence or stage-gate sales environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the Mining & Metals Industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in a calendar year.
  • Must have a Valid Passport.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, generate, and develop new leads within the mining industry vertical.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of early-stage and qualified commercial opportunities.
  • Identify and target mining operations, EPCs, OEMs, and other stakeholders where Aquatech’s water treatment technologies deliver measurable value.
  • Actively engage plant managers, metallurgists, water engineers, project managers, and procurement teams.
  • Convert leads into qualified opportunities using the defined Commercial Excellence framework.
  • Develop clear opportunity strategies, including customer needs analysis, value propositions, and win plans.
  • Ensure disciplined CRM usage and accurate opportunity tracking.
  • Participate in Gate Reviews and internal opportunity reviews as required.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of mining water challenges, including process water treatment, water reuse and recycling, tailings and mine-influenced water, and zero/minimal liquid discharge concepts.
  • Track market trends, capital project activity, and regulatory drivers impacting water use in mining.
  • Maintain key account relationships and generate a commercial ecosystem with key influencers, suppliers, contractors, and partners.
  • Provide structured market feedback to regional leadership and product teams (customers’ needs and preferences, competitors' positioning, etc.).
  • Work closely with Process Development, Project Developers, and other teams.
  • Support the development of early technical-commercial solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Engage with the Business Intelligence and Marketing teams for prospect targeting and marketing material preparation.
  • Represent Aquatech at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
