About The Position

As a Business Development Manager, you will bridge the gap between ICEYE’s world-leading ISR satellite capability and the people who use space-based intelligence at the sharp end of Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) defence and national security. You will open doors, build credibility, and ensure the ANZ’s most important intelligence users understand what makes ICEYE genuinely different. ICEYE is not the traditional defence prime; it is a different proposition entirely. ICEYE is one of the world’s fastest-growing space companies, and it is only at the beginning of what it intends to build in the ANZ. From day one, you will own the full sales cycle for Missions satellite programmes — identifying opportunities, shaping deals, and closing multi-year contracts — with the autonomy to move at pace and build the strategic relationships that expand ICEYE's presence across the ANZ defence and intelligence market.

Requirements

  • An established personal network within the ANZ Intelligence and defence intelligence community at the working and mid-senior level (people who will take your call)
  • 5+ years of strategic sales or business development experience in the aerospace, defence, space, ISR, earth observation, or related government technology sector.
  • Proven experience selling to ANZ government, defence, or public sector organisations, with an existing network you can activate from day one
  • Strong understanding of earth observation, ISR, or satellite-based capabilities, ideally including SAR.
  • Proven ability to run complex sales cycles, including lead qualification, opportunity development, capture planning, stakeholder mapping, and deal closure.
  • Willingness to travel as required, primarily across the ANZ region and to Finland.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently serving as a reservist, or recently transitioned from active duty within the last two years.
  • Familiarity with SAR (and other ISR) satellite products, or experience working with commercial SAR (and other ISR) providers.
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM.
  • Sales training in Miller Heiman, Korn Ferry, Shipley, or a similar methodology
  • Holds current ANZ Defence Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a trusted network of Intelligence and GEOINT practitioners across ANZ defence and intelligence: attending user engagements, demonstrations, and briefings to represent ICEYE credibly at the working level and stay close to user needs, priorities, and procurement timelines.
  • Advise internal ICEYE teams (Missions, Data and Solutions) on how ANZ military and intelligence users consume intelligence imagery, what tradecraft matters, and how to frame ICEYE’s products in language that resonates with analysts and collection managers.
  • Identify key decision-influencers across ANZ government and military organisations, and plan, host, and lead ICEYE engagements, from technical demonstrations to senior roundtables, to build trust and advance ICEYE’s standing.
  • Participate in ANZ military exercises that incorporate ICEYE capability, representing ICEYE at the operational level and capturing lessons that feed back into product and service development.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and provide clear market intelligence to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Support the successful accreditation and maintenance of ICEYE DISP.
