About The Position

The role of a Business Development Executive (BDE) in the property restoration and disaster recovery industry is critical for driving revenue and establishing long-term partnerships. A successful BDE acts as the primary liaison between the restoration company and key stakeholders, including insurance carriers, property managers, adjusters, and commercial facility owners. The primary objective is to secure a steady stream of referral business and formal service agreements that guarantee priority response and revenue generation. This document outlines the core responsibilities of a Restoration Business Development Executive, with a specific focus on the strategies and duties involved in getting service agreements signed by customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business or equivalent experience preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience
  • Strong process and results driven attitude
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the cleaning, restoration, or insurance industry is preferred
  • Understanding of property damage restoration processes, construction terminology, and estimating software (e.g., Xactimate).
  • Capability to develop geographic routing plans, target high-value verticals, and create actionable business development strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills to inspire loyalty and trust among referral partners.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiation and execution of formal service agreements, including Emergency Response Agreements (ERAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), or Contingency Plans.
  • Educating property owners and facility managers on the value of proactive disaster planning and the benefits of signing an ERA (priority response times, pre-approved pricing, minimized business disruption).
  • Managing the entire sales pipeline, from initial prospecting to contract execution and ongoing account management.
  • Utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (such as Dash, Salesforce, or specialized restoration CRMs) for accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintaining detailed notes on client preferences, tracking lead progress, and logging all networking activities.
  • Submitting detailed weekly activity reports outlining visits, meetings, and progress toward specific revenue goals.
  • Ongoing account management to ensure client satisfaction and secure repeat business.
  • Acting as the primary account manager, bridging the gap between the client and internal operations and estimating teams.
