About The Position

Gartner’s Business Development Executive strategically acquires new clients by cultivating trust-based relationships with C-level executives, understanding their mission-critical priorities, and identifying opportunities to deliver client value. The role owns and drives the full sales cycle—from prospect identification and outreach through negotiation and close—then transitions new clients to the account management team for ongoing value delivery. The executive manages a territory of Large Enterprise prospects, which may include organizations new to Gartner or clients working with other Gartner areas. In the GBS Large Enterprise segment, prospects have more than $1 billion in annual revenue. The role is accountable for building a book of business and delivering results through collaborative, value-focused client relationships. It carries quota responsibility and includes managing complex, high-revenue sales across diverse, matrixed business environments, along with monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and account planning. Gartner offers career progression opportunities, including paths to Business Development Director, Team Lead, Sales Manager, account management, or sales leadership. The position has a stated base salary range of $102,000–$147,000 USD, in addition to participation in an annual bonus plan or a role-based uncapped sales incentive plan. Gartner describes its work environment as hybrid, with flexibility to work virtually when productive and to meet with colleagues in person.
