About The Position

The role of a Business Development Executive (BDE) in the property restoration and disaster recovery industry is critical for driving revenue and establishing long-term partnerships. A successful BDE acts as the primary liaison between the restoration company and key stakeholders, including insurance carriers, property managers, adjusters, and commercial facility owners. The primary objective is to secure a steady stream of referral business and formal service agreements that guarantee priority response and revenue generation. This document outlines the core responsibilities of a Restoration Business Development Executive, with a specific focus on the strategies and duties involved in getting service agreements signed by customers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and execute formal service agreements (e.g., Emergency Response Agreements - ERAs, Master Service Agreements - MSAs, Contingency Plans) with commercial clients and property managers to establish the company as the priority responder for disasters.
  • Educate property owners and facility managers on the value of proactive disaster planning, highlighting benefits such as priority response times, pre-approved pricing, and minimized business disruption.
  • Manage the entire sales pipeline, from initial prospecting to contract execution and ongoing account management.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Dash, Salesforce, specialized restoration CRMs) daily for accurate record-keeping, client preference notes, lead tracking, and logging networking activities.
  • Submit detailed weekly activity reports outlining visits, meetings, and progress toward specific revenue goals.
  • Serve as the primary account manager, acting as a bridge between the client and internal operations and estimating teams to ensure client satisfaction and secure repeat business.
