Backstage is seeking a Business Development Executive, Casting (East Coast) to grow the number of clients posting and engaging with jobs and casting calls on Backstage’s talent-marketplace career platforms (Backstage, Mandy, and StarNow). Our business development consists of 10 business development professionals and is part of Backstage’s larger Casting Department. The Casting Department includes account managers, casting editors, website admins, content specialists, business development executives, and customer service representatives working across nine countries – all specialized in the hiring and casting needs of creative projects. You will work closely with all members of the business development team, sharing ideas, working collaboratively, and engaging in new initiatives and projects. We value autonomy and collaboration equally, and foster a culture where we trust our team members to execute on their own volition, while working collaboratively towards mutual goals. As this role will require in-person demos, meetings at casting offices, and attendance at networking events, we are only open to NYC-based candidates at this time. As a Business Development Executive specializing in Casting, your primary objectives are to expand our client base and drive the creation of job posts from new and existing employers, which include production companies, casting directors, producers, directors, brands, agencies, schools, and content creators who are staffing projects for film/TV, commercials, theater, marketing campaigns, and more. In this role, you will identify and reach out to new leads, educate and onboard new clients, and build cohesive, collaborative and dynamic relationships with new and existing customers. You will also be responsible for building strategic partnerships with organizations within the creative and professional sectors to reach new markets, grow Backstages’ opportunities to convert content creators into actively engaged clients, improve and grow brand awareness of Backstage’s platforms, and build trust within the market. In this role, you will also work with other stakeholders across the business, including but not limited to the account management, content curation, product, and marketing teams, to target new markets and leads, onboard new customers, enhance the overall product and user experience, and manage and sustain ongoing relationships with existing customers. You will also be involved in developing, planning, and implementing strategies that contribute to our overall business objectives. This role will report to Backstage's Business Development Manager. Compensation for this role is structured as $65,000-$75,000 base compensation plus commission, with OTE of $84,500-$97,500 annually.
