About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Business Development Engineer to join its Applications Engineering team. The role is designed for early- to mid-career candidates who can connect technical radio-frequency capabilities with Department of the Air Force customer requirements and emerging trends. Reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, the position works with Engineering and Business Development teams to support U.S. Air Force acquisition stakeholders and demonstrate the technical capabilities, interoperability, and field-readiness of the StreamCaster MANET radio portfolio in airborne, surface, expeditionary airbase, and uncrewed environments. The role supports customer requirements analysis, technical planning and execution of field trials and evaluations, demonstrations, proposal responses, market research, and partner integrations. It also gathers operational feedback to help inform product roadmaps and tracks engineering progress against operational needs. Travel is expected for field tests, customer meetings, and demonstrations, with the posting specifying up to 50% travel. A 100% remote working option may be available depending on location. The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience. Candidates need exposure to software-defined radios, IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems, and basic familiarity with RF test equipment. An active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months is required, as is U.S. citizenship. Employment is contingent on successfully clearing a background check and drug test. The listed annual compensation range is $100,000–$140,000.
