About The Position

This is a multi-level posting for a Business Development Director/Executive. Candidates may be considered for any of the levels posted, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise. The core function of the role is to market Northern's throughput services in the Field Area to secure incremental supply availability into Northern’s system and generate incremental revenue through market development and retention. As an employee of the field area business development team, you will be directly involved in all aspects of commercial project development, from securing customers to coordinating the evaluation of the facilities required to provide transportation services. The role also includes direct account management activities for all aspects of customer's business. The BHE Pipeline Group, consisting of Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s interstate natural gas pipeline companies (BHE GT&S, Kern River Gas Transmission Company, and Northern Natural Gas Company), operates approximately 21,200 miles of pipeline with a design capacity of approximately 21.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, owns assets in 27 states, and is an industry leader in natural gas transportation. The group also operates 22 natural gas storage facilities with a total working gas capacity of 515.6 billion cubic feet and a liquefied natural gas export, import, and storage facility. Responsibilities

  • Market Northern's throughput services in the Field Area to secure incremental supply availability into Northern’s system.
  • Generate incremental revenue through market development and retention.
  • Be directly involved in all aspects of the commercial project development from securing customers to coordinating the evaluation of the facilities required to provide transportation services.
  • Include the direct account management activities for all aspects of customer's business.
  • Formulate service strategies and objectives to maintain existing customers and attract new customers.
  • Secure long-term business relationships and contracts.
  • Direct the preparation of contracts, and ensure contracts reflect intended agreement and specifications.
  • Champion customer needs and be the internal advocate to ensure a customer-focused team environment.
  • Promote Northern’s outstanding customer service by demonstrating superior internal and external professionalism and responsiveness.
